Transaction Security
The website cosmeticom.gr uses the SSL protocol for secure online commercial transactions. In this way, all your personal information, such as your credit card number, name and address, is encrypted so that it cannot be read or changed during transmission over the Internet.
The SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol is currently the global standard on the Internet for authenticating web sites to web users as well as for encrypting data between web users and web servers. An encrypted SSL communication requires that all information sent between a client and a server be encrypted by the sending software and decrypted by the receiving software, thus protecting personal information during its transfer. In addition, all information sent with the SSL protocol is protected by a mechanism that automatically verifies whether the data has been changed during its transfer.
Ensuring the Privacy of the Transfer of Your Personal Data
To ensure the confidentiality of data transfer, the Company uses the 256-bit SSL encryption protocol.
It has also adopted the EveryPay service in order to securely make card payments in the EveryPay electronic payment system.
EveryPay
“Recognizing the importance of electronic payment security, EveryPay is a licensed Payment Institution by the Bank of Greece (decision no. 280/3/23-7-2018, Government Gazette B 3010/25-7-2018), and securely manages card payment transaction data, in accordance with the regulatory framework of the card transaction security management standard. Everypay is certified according to the PCI DSS standard. All Everypay services are provided through secure connections with 256-bit SSL certificates. EveryPay also supports the possibility of using the 3D Secure service, an additional security measure for VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Diners & Discover cards. The Payer will then have to enter his personal secret code to successfully complete the transaction.”
3D Secure
cosmeticom.gr has adopted the 3D-Secure protocol with the aim of offering users increased protection against unauthorized use of their card during the transaction process. Consumers-cardholders of banks that support the 3D-Secure protocol have the option of enrolling their Visa, MasterCard and American Express cards in the Verified by Visa, SecureCode or SafeKey programs respectively, so that cardholders can choose a security code for each of their cards that only they will know. Thus, every time the registered User/Customer makes an electronic transaction using their card, they will be asked for the security code. In the cases of customers whose cards either do not support the Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode or American Express SafeKey services or have not enrolled in them, card payments are processed without the need for an additional code.
Encryption
From the cart to the end of the purchase process in the cosmeticom.gr online store, all information and personal details of the User/Customer are encrypted based on the 256-bit SSL encryption protocol. Encryption is essentially a way of encoding information until it reaches its intended recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key. During the ordering process in the Company's online store, all communication between the user's computer and the Company's systems is encrypted using an encryption key. That is, every time it sends information to the system, the browser first encrypts it using an encryption key and then sends it to the system. The Company's system first decrypts the information it receives using the same key (which is predetermined when the user starts connecting to the service) and then processes it. The Company's systems send information following the same encryption process.
